Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • RHP/OFPosition Projection

12/27/2017 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Andrew is a coachable RHP/OF prospect who worked hard on his skills during his time at the Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City. On the mound, Andrew shows a deceiving delivery and a quick arm action. He has a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 73mph with good sinking action. Slider sits from 59-63mph with 10-4 break. Andrew can improve as a pitcher by gathering to a balance point over the rubber. In the field, Andrew fields the ball out in front of his body and makes a clean exchange to throw. He gains momentum well and keeps his throws accurate and on-line to his target. Andrew can improve defensively by getting into a lower fielding position. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an open stance and gets into his load well. He takes a level swing with decent bat speed which leads to solid contact to the opposite field. Andrew can improve as a hitter by taking a shorter stride. Overall, Andrew is a solid RHP/OF prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills on the field.

10/01/2017 - College PREP - Trenton, NJ Andrew is an athletic RHP who will graduate in 2019. On the mound, Andrew stands over the rubber well, his arm action is loose, and he separates on-time. He has good direction toward home, is able to hide the baseball throughout his delivery, and lands in a proper length. Added arm strength and more glove side lead can help mound effectiveness get better. Offensively, Andrew has a crouched set-up, a square stride, and he swings in good rhythm. He has a direct barrel to the ball and swings on plane. Hitting numbers can get better if Andrew can smooth out his timing, add bat speed, and use more lower ½.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
