Official Scouting Report

08/03/2018 - College PREP - Anchorage, AK Andrew is an athletic, projectable two-way prospect who has the frame of a college baseball player. He can really swing it with a compact, efficient path that allows him to deliver the barrel on a consistent basis. At the dish, he profiles as a two-hole hitter with excellent bat to ball skills with signs of pop that come from his level stroke and ability to make hard contact. He makes quick adjustments and can use all fields for base hits. At second, he is aggressive working to the ball with athletic actions and fields square with sure hands. He plays through and creates good angles to his target to make accurate throws. On the hill, this tall RHP features a three-pitch mix including a mid 70's fastball with tailing action, a sharp 11-5 breaking ball and a deceptive changeup. His delivery is smooth and repeatable with good direction and an activated front side. Staying back and letting his arm follow his body will lead to better control and velocity. Andrew is an exciting, talented prospect who we expect to have a strong senior season.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
