08/07/2016 - College PREP - Wilmington, DE Andrew continues to show his skill on the field and has improved as he has gotten older. Andrew has a huge cut at the dish with some real power as the ball can jump off his bat. His setup is square and tall and he tracks the ball well to the bat. He has a good feel for the barrel and makes lots of hard contact, showing good power to the pull side. At third, he works to center to field ball hit his way. He has a clean, short arm stroke with good accuracy on his throws to the bases. Working from the ground up will help him keep more balls in front and be a complete defender. Andrew keeps getting better and has made himself into a prospect for the next level.

11/05/2015 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition at Pirate City Andrew is a versatile, mature 2019 grad that projects at 3B/RHP. At 3B, Andrew works to the ball from an athletic pre pitch stance and a controlled body. He makes the routine plays and as he improves his foot speed and lateral range as he gets older, his abilities have the potential to shine at SS. On the mound, Andrew is a sneaky RHP with excellent command. He attacks hitters with a low 70s FB and finishes them with either his 11-5 breaker or his sinking 60s CH. He works with good rhythm and as he learns to slow his arm down to match is body and gain arm strength, his velo and command will continue to increase. Offensively, he barreled up the ball the majority of his at bats. He hits from a square, simple stance with rhythm in his hands and lower 1/2. He is an advanced hitter as a freshman. In all, Andrew is a coachable player with a bright future ahead.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
