Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • LHPPosition Projection

10/04/2015 - National Tryout Plus - Trenton, NJ Andrew is a 2018 southpaw that made some large adjustments. On the mound, he works down in the zone with a quick arm and sharp run on his FB. His actions are repeatable with a 3-pitch mix making it tough on hitters as they step in the box. Working in the low 70s with a mid 50s breaker keeps the hitters off balance and as he works to use more of his lower 1/2 and pick up a long toss program, he will see his abilities improve. Overall, Andrew continues to work hard and make adjustments during his outing.

07/25/2014 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City Andrew is a primary LHP with a great mound presence. He throws a fastball with good arm side run and a curve that has a nice 2/8 shape. His delivery is smooth and he repeats his mechanics well. At the plate Andrew starts with a closed stance, he has a smooth load, and strong balance. He takes a direct path to the ball and consistently hit line drives during games.

11/14/2013 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition at Pirate City Andrew is a solid, very smart baseball player who is a LHP and First baseman. On the mound, Andrew has a controlled balance point and finishes his backside through very well. He isn't afraid to attack hitters on the inner half of the plate with good control. Andrew continues to improve his glove side leading directly to the plate and his stride towards the plate. In the infield at 1B, Andrew is a very smart player who makes all adjustments pre-pitch. He fields the ball cleanly and picks very well rounding out a solid defensive player. As a hitter, Andrew loads well and makes very good contact. He can drive the ball to the opposite field fairly well and stays through contact well. Andrew has a great attitude, is a lot of fun to be around and continues to strive to improve in all aspects of the game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
