01/17/2014 - Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Andrew is a primary pitcher that also plays SS. On the mound Andre is unique because he can throw with his right and left hand. In the games he only showcased as a RHP and he pounds the zone with his 3 pitch mix. He stays down in the zone with his fastball, curve has an 11/5 shape with good depth, and his change has good sink. In the infield he has quick feet, sure hands, and has good range. He is aggressive to the ball and stays under control with his body. Andrew has a quick exchange and he makes accurate throws across the diamond. Offensively he has a smooth load, good balance, and a nice rhythm. He is aggressive with his approach and makes consistent contact. He stays in the middle of the field with his approach and he can spray the ball to all fields. With Andrew's athleticism and unique set of skills, he should be a viable option at the next level.

07/26/2013 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City Andrew is a young player who is not only talented but has a great work ethic. In the infield, he has a good pre-pitch setup/routine, a good athletic fielding position and soft/sure hands. He has good quick footwork and a loose arm action with good carry on his throws. He can work on playing through the baseball and getting his momentum moving towards his target. He has a tendency to sit back on the ball instead of attacking it. On the mound he has the ability to pitch with both hands, although his pitching grades are a bit higher as a RHP. Andrew shows good body control and the ability to reach a balance point and separate on time. His tempo from the right side is more repeatable, but some of that stems from him being more of a hang-reader from the stretch as a LHP. He can work on finishing his pitches aggressively and landing in an athletic fielding position. At the plate, Andrew has good mechanics. He has a good load/stride, good balance and gets his lower half through well. Hands work well inside the ball and he has good bat speed. He can work on his finish and maximizing extension through the point of contact. Overall, Andrew is a solid player with lots of upside.

03/09/2013 - Interactive Video Program - Kenosha, WI Andrew is an athletic, 2-way player who plays SS and RHP. Defensively, Andrew has soft / sure hands, efficient footwork, and a low approach. He has some pre-pitch actions, gains ground, and throws with accuracy from a short / quick arm action to his target. On the mound, Andrew has a sound arm action, level shoulders, and good overall mound presence. At the plate, Andrew has a square set-up, good balance, and a short swing. He swings in good rhythm, can spray to all fields, and he gets his lower 1/2 through. Overall abilities can improve with work on the following.

Defense
1. Field out front
2. Don't throw against body
Pitching
1. Keep head still
2. Long toss
Offense
1. Bat speed
2. More direct hands to the ball

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
