10/28/2015 - Under Armour SoCal Classic, powered by Baseball Factory's Team One Andrew is a big/tall 2-way player entering his senior season. He showed very well during his time at the SoCal Classic. Defensively, he works the hot corner with proper angles to GB's, quick reactions and proper backhand technique. He has a quick release and strong arm to fire the ball accurately across the diamond. Continuing to develop his foot speed will help to increase lateral range. As a RHP, Andrew has an idea of the zone and pitches to contact. He throws strikes consistently and works the ball to both sides of the plate. He throws with good plane and finishes out in front. Offensively, this RHH barrels up the ball with authority. His strong hands and quick lower 1/2 give him plus bat speed. The ball jumps off of his barrel to all parts of the field (exit velocity = 90 mph). He battles in every at-bat and proved to be a very tough out. Overall, Andrew is a talented player that will impress college coaches wherever he displays his talents. He will play at a high level.

09/13/2015 - College PREP - Oak Creek (Milwaukee), WI Andrew is a tall 3B/RHP that will graduate in 2016 and has a promising future on the diamond. Currently, he projects best at 3B for the next level. At the plate is where he shows best, displaying solid hitting abilities with well above average power potential through an athletic setup. Hands are quick, flashing bat speed through an aggressive approach and works through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing with plus barrel accuracy and makes consistent contact, as he works stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields, displaying gap to gap. At 3B, feet are active / aggressive as he moves well laterally and works to square balls up, displaying soft / sure hands. He shows off his athletic abilities on his feeds of the double play. Defensive grades will continue to improve as he plays through balls more while presenting hands more out front and increases foot quickness. On the mound, arm strength is solid as indicated by his top velocity of 81 mph. Fastball shows a range of 78-81 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 12/6 shape with downward action. He throws a knuckleball with downward action but needs to become more consistent with pitch. Stock to the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength and works to throw more strikes. Andrew has potential and will catch the eyes of the collegiate coaches as he continues to improve.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
