11/08/2018 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition at Pirate City (Ages 14-18) Angel is an athletic and talented 2019 SS prospect that plays the game hard. At SS, Angel is on time with his prep step, presents a low/early glove, and funnels the ball into his body. He has clean exchange, a quick release, and throws from multiple arm angles. Continuing to anticipate swings will increase his first step to the ball along with agility work. At the plate, Angel is in an athletic stance and loads his hands back into the drive position. He keeps a quiet head, hits off a firm front side, and stays balanced through contact. He needs to continue to attack the inside part of the ball and create backside rotation with his lower half. Keeping a middle approach and being aggressive on the fastball will allow him to have a better approach at the plate. Increase foot speed and overall strength will take Angel to the next level. Angel will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

08/12/2018 - College PREP - Elgin (Chicago), IL Angel is a wiry SS prospect who will gradaute in 2019. In the field, Angel centers the ball in the middle of his body and fields the ball out in front. He makes a clean exchange to throw and keeps his throws consistent to his target. Angel can improve defensively by attacking the ball more aggressively. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a square stride. He is smooth getting into his load and maintains center balance. He takes a level swing with decent bat speed which leads to square contact and line drives. Angel can improve as a hitter by driving his lower half more. Overall, Angel is a developing prospect who has the potential to further progress his skills on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
