11/19/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Marlborough (Boston), MA Angel is a C/1B with a big frame. Defensively behind the plate, he displays a quiet body with a big target. He works hard to block wild pitches and tries to make accurate throws down to 2B. At 1B, he hustles hard laterally and tries to work into a square fielding position on GB's. He comes up with a clean exchange and makes accurate throws to his target. As a hitter, Angel shows an athletic setup with smooth rhythm to load. He swings on-plane through the zone with balance and drives pitches on a line. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
