12/07/2014 - College PREP - Grand Prairie (DFW), TX Angel is a RHP/1B that will graduate this spring. Defensively, he made plays out in front with a sure glove and threw with a loose arm. Being more aggressive to come get and maintaining momentum to throw are essential to next level play in the infield. In the box, he gets his hands activated to hit and is consistent with his timing. Eliminating foot movement and staying short to the ball will increase pop. On the hill, he topped out at 81 with his fastball and threw it for frequent strikes. He also showed feel for a CH that he threw with tail from 68-69. Mechanically, he used his legs, worked downhill, and was deceptive. Fluidity & rhythm to deliver and a quicker tempo are important additions to making him successful. In all - Angel is a lean built ball player that should have a solid senior season.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
