06/14/2017 - 2017 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National Florida Angel continues to show a tremendous future on the diamond. On the bump, he had a solid showing at the event. He attacks hitters, throwing a lot of strikes as he works to get ahead of hitters through a quick tempo. Fastball showed range of 88-90 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with late break. Command / control is outstanding as he attacks hitters and locates to both sides of the plate. At the plate, hands are quick (91 mph exit velocity) as he squares the ball up consistently driving it on a line with gap-to-gap pop. Defensively, he takes a quick first step and has plus lateral range. He creates angles around the GB with fluid actions. DP turns are quick with zip on his throws. Defensive abilities are outstanding as he shows big play potential. Angel has a tremendous upside on the diamond and will get looks from the top collegiate coaches and pro scouts, possibly as a two-way guy.

01/13/2017 - Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament The UAAAPS Tournament was another excellent event for Angel. The 2-way player is talented in all facets of the game, though it appears that his biggest upside is on the mound. As a RHP he featured a heavy, sinking fastball that lived in the 88-90 mph range. He gets excellent plane to the pitch and throws it to both sides of the plate. His delivery is balanced and under control with a slight coil and go move that hides the ball well from hitters. His breaking ball is an extremely effective 2-plane breaker with depth that is used as an out pitch. He allowed only 1 hit while striking out 10 in his outing. As a position player Angel has leverage power in his right-handed stroke making loud contact with the ability to drive the ball to all parts of the field. He is also very capable at 1B providing a good target and showing dependable hands. Overall, Angel is an extremely talented 2018 prospect with a strong frame and the ability to impact the game in a number of ways.

09/17/2016 - 2016 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's Futures East Angel is a physical 6'2"/220 2-way player as a RHP and 1B. On the mound he has an under control delivery with a slight coil at the top that helps him hide the ball well. His fastball is very heavy with late running action. It is a very tough pitch to square up and results in lots of weak ground ball contact. His breaking ball complements the FB well with late 11-5 shape, and he throws it for strikes. As a position player Angel has leverage power from a simple stroke and it was on display with a line drive double that rattled the LF fence in the game. He also is very capable at 1B with sure hands and a good feel around the bag. It will be interesting to see Angel's ultimate spot, though it currently looks like the ceiling is a bit higher on the mound.

09/19/2015 - 2015 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's Futures East Tiburcio featured an advanced combination of feel for hitting and fastball velocity, making him a legitimate two-way prospect. He stands a solid and strong 6-foot-2 and 220 pounds, and uses that size and strength to impact the ball at the plate. His stroke is simple and easy, with rhythm to his prep action and overall stroke. He showed excellent ability to see and react to off speed stuff, with an instinctual ability to deliver the barrel to a variety of pitches in multiple locations. He combines feel for hitting with the requisite speed and strength to give him one of the better hit / power combinations in the 2018 class. On the mound, he threw a heavy fastball in the 85-87 range and spun a low-to-mid 70s breaking ball. He repeated his delivery well and threw a high volume of strikes. Overall, a talented two-way player with high-level talent both ways.

09/19/2014 - 2014 Under Armour Fall Classic Underclass Participant 9/21 - Big, physical, long limbs, FB: 80-84mph, over the top delivery, breaking ball 11/t6 shape at 71-73mph, strike thrower, Antonio Alfonseca type delivery

06/06/2014 - 2014 Under Armour Southeast Championships 16U Participant Square and balanced in the box. Has present strength. Consistently barreled the ball up, made hard in contact multiple at bats including a long fly out to right center -offering proof of ability to drive it the other way.

09/20/2013 - 2013 Under Armour Fall Classic - Underclass Participant 9/20/13 - Big body projectable, strong arm from outfield, plus power, uses the whole field, quick on pitches in, level bat path, good barrel accuracy.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
