01/17/2020 - 2020 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Angel showed nice upgrades in his game during the Pre-Season AA. He increased arm strength to 80 MPH, exit velocity to 75 MPH, and abilities in the INF improved. He has active feet, plays with good energy, and takes good angles to the baseball. He has agile range, a low/square fielding position, and he has a short/accurate arm across the diamond. Offensively, Angel has loose hands, a square stance, and he swings on plane. He makes solid contact and rotates his core through.

09/08/2019 - College PREP - La Verne (Los Angeles), CA Angel continues to shine on the diamond. At SS, he displays smooth / fluid actions and shows big play potential in the MIF. Feet are aggressive as he attacks balls and plays through well with his body. Glove action is soft and presents well out front. Range is a plus as he moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground. In the OF, he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He attacks and works to get behind, playing through with momentum to his target. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he has athletic/smooth actions with fluid rhythm to load. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side.

11/11/2018 - College PREP - Wildomar (Los Angeles), CA Angel is a talented shortstop prospect who has an athletic, projectable build. As a right-handed hitter, Angel has an open, athletic setup with a centered balance and firm front side. He has smooth rhythm with a good load and short, square stride. Angel shows fast bat speed with a direct, on-plane swing path. He gets good extension landing the barrel to the baseball. Angel is a line drive type hitter who has a middle of the field approach. In the field, Angel plays with effective footwork and body control to cover good ground. He presents his glove and fields the ball in a square, athletic position. Angel has a quick exchange and throws from a 3/4 arm slot. He plays with momentum through the baseball showing consistently online throws across the diamond. Overall, Angel has the skill and approach to take his game to the next level.

01/28/2018 - Interactive Video Program - San Diego, CA Angel is a lean, athletic, 2-way player who plays SS and OF. In the INF, Angel has active/fluid footwork, he takes good angles to the ball, and he fields in a low/square position. He presents his glove well, has a quick/clean exchange, and throws with a quick release and accuracy to his target. In the OF, Angel has good pre-pitch actions, loose body actions, and his exchange is quick with a loose/accurate arm to his cut-off man. Offensively, Angel has an open stance, a short stride, and he loads well. He swings in good rhythm, has a compact swing, and can hit to all fields. Angel is a solid young player and can get better with work on the following.

Infield
1. Long toss
2. Fielding position
Outfield
1. Reads off the bat
2. Quicken feet
Offense
1. Separation
2. Let ball travel

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
