01/21/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Kapolei, HI Anson is an athletic, 2-way player who pitches and plays SS. On the mound, Anson stands over the rubber well, he has a loose/quick arm action, and gets good extension on his pitches. He separates on-time, lands in a square position, and competes in the zone with his pitches. At SS, Anson has soft hands, fluid feet, and he fields the ball cleanly. He fields in rhythm, has a quick exchange, and throws with accuracy from a loose arm action. At the plate, Anson has an open stance, a short/square stride, and good balance. He swings on-plane, has a middle approach, and makes consistent contact. Anson can improve skills by working on the following.

Pitching
1. Glove side lead
2. Finish
3. Long toss
Infield
1. Play lower
2. Backhand
Offense

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
