05/31/2020 - All-In Membership - Frisco (DFW), TX AJ is an athletic SS prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the field. At SS, AJ shows quick footwork and moves well laterally. He fields in a low position and makes a clean exchange. He gains ground well on his throws, keeping them consistently on-line to his target. Presenting his hands to the ball sooner can help AJ improve defensively. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a crouched stance and takes a square stride. He is smooth getting into his load and leads well with his lower half. He takes a direct swing with fast bat speed, leading to solid contact and gap to gap pop. AJ can improve as a hitter by working on his contact points. Overall, AJ is a solid prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills on the field.

02/17/2019 - College PREP - Highland Park (DFW), TX AJ continues to shine on the diamond. In the OF, he displays smooth/clean actions. He utilizes his feet well in tracking down balls through proper routes/angles. He needs to work to get behind balls and play through with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. Throws are accurate with carry but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he continues to shine through an open setup. Hands are quick (80 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently.

08/01/2018 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) AJ showed well both offensively and defensively during his time at the Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City. He also stood out with his makeup as he hustles, was a hard worker, and a team player. He has quick hands at the plate, an open stance, and good balance. He has fast bat speed, a direct barrel to the ball, and he makes hard/consistent contact. In the OF, AJ has active feet, soft hands, and he works behind the ball well. He makes plays, has a clean exchange, and throws with accuracy and consistency to his target. AJ is a solid athlete and we look forward to seeing what the future holds.

04/08/2018 - College PREP - Plano (DFW), TX AJ is an athletic OF/SS who has a promising future on the diamond. At the plate is where he shows best, displaying solid power potential through a squared setup. Hands are quick (85 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive approach. He shows a feel for the barrel and stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. In the OF, he displays smooth/clean actions. He utilizes his feet well in tracking down balls through proper routes/angles. He needs to work to get behind balls and play through with momentum to his target. Range is a plus as he moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground. At SS, he displays smooth/clean actions. Feet are active and he displays proper footwork but needs to play through balls more with his body. Glove action is soft/sure but needs to present more out front. Throws are accurate with carry but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. With 3 years to further develop, Anthony has a lot of potential with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
