08/15/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Uniondale (Long Island), NY Anthony continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. He uses his body during the blocking process centering balls out front. Receiving / blocking skills show as outstanding tools that will play well. Pop times showed in the 2.10 range with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he continues to shine through an athletic setup. He is aggressive as he attacks balls through a level swing path. Hands are quick (82 mph exit velocity) and stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop.

01/17/2020 - 2020 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Anthony is an athletic C prospect who continued to showcase his skills at the Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament. Behind the plate, Anthony sits in a relaxed stance and receives with soft hands. He makes a clean exchange and gets rid of the ball quickly, keeping his throws accurate to the 2B bag. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a square stride. He is controlled getting into a simple load and hits against a strong front side. He takes a compact swing with decent bat speed, leading to solid contact to his pull side. Overall, Anthony is a solid prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills on the field.

09/15/2019 - National Tryout Plus - Moosic (Scranton), PA Anthony showed well offensively and defensively during his last workout in Scranton. At the plate, Anthony is a strong hitter with an athletic stance, and good balance. He has fast bat speed, he works the middle of the field, and he makes square/level contact. Behind the plate, Anthony has fluid footwork, agile movements, and he presents his glove well. He blocks softly, tracks to his glove, and has an accurate arm to 2nd base. In the OF, Anthony has active feet, agile movements to the ball, and he creates a good fielding angle. He attacks aggressively and throws with consistency to his target. Anthony is a nice prospect!

07/17/2019 - Under Armour Southwest Championships 16U, powered by Baseball Factory's Team One Anthony is an athletic and talented 2021 Catching prospect that made several adjustments throughout the week. Behind the dish, Anthony starts in a quiet primary stance, he shows a low target, and works behind the ball well. He has a “nothing gets by me mentality” when blocking and does anything and everything to keep the ball in front of him. He's mentality tough and has good leadership skills on the field. When throwing he gains ground with a clean exchange and a quick release. At the plate, Anthony has a middle approach and makes consistent contact to all fields. He had several good AB's and ambushed a few fastballs early in counts. He has a simple load and gets to balance but needs to continue to create backside drive. Clearing his back hip will help him generate more power and improve bat speed. Anthony will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
