Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • 3B/RHPPosition Projection

01/14/2022 - 2022 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament (FL) Anthony is a 3B/RHP prospect who will graduate in 2022. Good frame athletic build with strength present with a lot of room to fill out. At 3B, he passes the eye test and has a good arm. Showed good range and soft hands as he fields from a low fielding position. Short arm action into a high 3/4 release point with consistent throws. On-line throws, with a quick release, to first base with a recorded arm velocity up to 88 mph. On the mound, he showed a clean arm with simple mechanics. Late drive to plate who pitches to contact. Mason works off of a FB that sat 85-88mph with movement. Mixed in a good 11/5 breaking ball that he uses to keep hitters off-balance. Right-handed hitter starts with a tall and athletic stance. Quiet head enables him to track pitches well and battles with 2 strikes. Has a good idea of what pitch he is looking for. Showed some quickness to hands, with good hip rotation, and ability to hit balls to both gaps. Reached base 3 times and had a bat exit velocity of 93mph in live game action. With continued growth and development, we foresee him having opportunities to play at the next level.

08/01/2021 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (HS) - HOTEL Anthony is a 3B/RHP prospect who will graduate in 2022. Medium frame, with good lower half, athletic build and a projectable frame with room to fill throughout moving forward. At 3B, takes good glove side angles and ability to pick out hops. Low funnel and clean exchange into a low 3/4 arm slot. Accurate/on-line throws across diamond with plus arm strength. Right-handed pitcher who gets to good balance point and works downhill. Separates on time as he throws from a high 3/4-arm slot with good arm action. Throws a FB that topped out at 89mph with run. Also showed 2 good off speed offerings with a tight 11-5 shaped curveball and a changeup that can be thrown for strikes. A right-handed hitter, he begins with an even and tall stance. Balanced setup who gets some load to start his swing and some late bat whip. Showed ability to spray line drives to all fields with a recorded bat exit velocity of 96mph. One more year of continued growth and development, we foresee him having a bright future on the baseball field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
