  • 2B/RHPPosition Projection

12/19/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Thousand Oaks, CA Anthony is a 2B/RHP prospect who will graduate in 2023. Medium frame lean build with some strength present and plenty of room to add throughout. At 2B, he starts with a good pre-pitch routine, with active feet, and good body control at baseball. He works around balls and creates good fielding angles. Has a loose arm stroke and throws from a high 3/4 arm slot. He made accurate and on-line throws across diamond with a quick release. A switch hitter, from the right side he hits from an athletic and open stance. He stays inside the ball and has a high finish. A direct barrel path enables him to hit line drives to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 73mph. From the left side, he hits from an athletic and closed stance. A short barrel path enables him to spray balls to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 67mph. He showed better from the right side during his rounds of BP. On the mound, he showed athletic actions and had a good feel for pitching. He has a simple/repeatable delivery and works with good tempo. He gathers over the rubber and picks up target early. He attacks hitters with a FB that sits 74-77mph with sinking action, an 11/5 shaped breaking ball with good depth, a knuckleball with good movement in the zone, and a changeup with arm side run that he throws with FB arm speed. With another year of growth and development, Anthony should make huge strides on the baseball field.

12/09/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Thousand Oaks, CA Anthony is a 2B/RHP prospect who will graduate in 2023. In the field, Anthony shows active footwork and is aggressive attacking the ball. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front. He makes a clean exchange and gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them accurate and on-line to his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a short stride. He gets back into his load and drives through well with his lower half. He works to barrel up the baseball and produces solid line drives. On the mound, Anthony gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a loose arm and extends through on his release, finishing with his chest over his front knee. Anthony shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 57mph. Breaking ball sits from 51-53mph with 10-4 break. Changeup sits from 50-52mph. Overall abilities can improve with work on the following.

Fielding
1. Prep step
2. Remove glove flip
3. Quicker double play exchange
Hitting
1. Smoother rhythm
2. Center balance
3. Level swing path
Pitching
1. Square stride
2. Long toss
3. Add strength

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
