11/11/2018 - National Tryout Plus - Davie, FL Anthony is an athletic C/3B prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the field. Behind the plate, Anthony sits in a low stance and shows efficient footwork when blocking. He presents a good target to the pitcher and receives with soft hands. He makes a quick exchange and gets rid of the ball quick on his throws to 2B, keeping them accurate and on-line to the bag. Increasing his blocking range can help Anthony improve as a C. At 3B, Anthony shows active footwork and flashes good range to his glove side. He fields the ball out in front with soft hands and makes a clean exchange. He gets rid of the ball quickly and keeps his throws accurate and on-line to his target. Anthony can improve as a 3B by fielding in a lower position. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a short stride. He takes a level swing and hits from a strong front side, leading to solid contact. Anthony can improve as a hitter by working a smoother load into his swing. With three more years to develop, Anthony has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

08/01/2018 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Anthony is an athletic and lanky 2021 Catching prospect that worked hard and made several adjustments throughout the week at Pirate City. Behind the dish, Anthony has an athletic primary and secondary stance. He needs to continue to work behind the ball and present the ball post pitch. He leads with his glove and gets into a good foundation to control the ball with his chest when blocking. He has a clean exchange and creates momentum in his lower half when throwing to the bases. At the plate, Anthony starts in a tall stance and loads his hands back into the drive position. He hits off a firm front side and stays balanced through contact. He needs to continue to get his front foot down on time and hunt out the fastball. Attacking the inside part of the ball and creating backside rotation will allow him to drive the ball gap to gap. Anthony will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

06/10/2018 - College PREP - Medford (Boston), MA Anthony continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. Pop times showed in the 2.30 range with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Glove action is soft / clean and sticks balls well in the zone. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process, centering balls well out front. At the plate, he shows an open setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently.

12/28/2017 - College PREP - Rindge, NH Anthony is a young C prospect who will graduate in 2021. Behind the plate, Anthony shows efficient footwork and centers the ball well when blocking balls in the dirt. He sits in a square position and presents a good target to the pitcher. Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
