09/04/2020 - HS All-Region Tournament Anthony continues to shine on the diamond. In the OF, he takes proper routes/angles in tracking down balls. He needs to work to get behind balls more to play through with momentum to his target. Range is a plus as he utilizes his quick feet (7.03 60 time) well in covering ground. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick (84 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach with gap-to-gap pop.

07/04/2020 - Baseball Factory Firecracker Classic 18U Anthony showed to be a consistent 'team' player at the Firecracker Classic with Baseball Factory. Offensively, he hit from an open stance with relaxed and comfortable hands. He generated decent bat speed, flashing an exit velo of 86 mph. He worked to improve hitting the ball where it was pitched, spraying to all fields, over being a traditional pull type hitter. In the OF he was athletic making plays and active with his feet. His exchange was clean and he got rid of the ball well, accurately hitting his targets with his throws. Overall, we are seeing growth from Anthony, as an athlete and a player, and we look forward to seeing his progression post event.

09/29/2019 - College PREP - Sanford (Orlando), FL Anthony is a talented athlete who is fun to watch. At 3B, quick/fluid actions allow him to work naturally through the baseball as he has a quick release with accuracy on his throws across the diamond but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. He has plus lateral range and makes the tough plays in the hole and to his glove-side with ease. In the OF, he takes proper routes/angles in tracking balls down. He works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. At the plate, this righty stands in well with fluid rhythm. Quick hands (86 mph exit velocity) whip the barrel to and through the contact point as he extends through a line drive approach.

07/31/2019 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Anthony continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a bright future on the diamond. At the plate, power potential has improved, now showing well above average through an athletic setup. He has strong/centered balance with fluid rhythm to load. Hands are quick (87 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path with lower half working well through the swing. He has strength in his swing with power showing best to the pull side. In the OF, he takes a quick first step and moves lightly on the balls of his feet. Range is a plus as reads balls well off the bat and covers a lot of ground. Transfer is smooth with strong throws (80 mph velocity) through his cut off. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a great personality, is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

06/22/2019 - Omaha National World Series - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Anthony is a solid, athletic OF who will graduate in 2021. At the plate, he has strong/centered balance with fluid rhythm. Hands are quick (81 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path with the lower half working well through the swing. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. In the OF, he takes a quick first step and moves lightly on the balls of his feet. Range is a plus as he reads balls well off the bat and covers a lot of ground. Transfer is smooth with strong throws through his cut off. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a great personality, is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be. With 2 years to further develop, Anthony has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
