12/27/2023 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 Anthony is an athletic catcher who has a promising future on the diamond. Behind the dish, he sits low in a comfortable stance and presents a solid target. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process, centering balls well out front. Pop times showed in the 2.19 range with accuracy / carry (82 mph velocity) on his throws. He communicates well behind the dish. At the plate, he shows a relaxed setup. Hands are quick (82 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields, flashing gap-to-gap pop. Lower half works well through the swing as he transfer weight well. He has a great attitude, is very coachable, and works hard on the diamond. With 3 years to further develop, Anthony has a lot of potential and for sure will be a player to watch.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
