05/01/2016 - College PREP - College Station, TX Anthony is a strong, athletic catcher who has a bright future on the diamond. Foot speed is tremendous as indicated by his 60 time of 6.65. He utilizes his quick feet in gaining ground through a clean transfer / exchange as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. Pop times show in the 1.95 range. Arm strength is well above average as indicated by his top velocity of 85 mph. He will control the running game with his feet / arm. Receiving / blocking skills are outstanding, showing as plus tools that will play well at the next level. At the plate, he continues to shine, displaying solid hitting with well above average power potential. Hands are quick (88 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He works to stay inside the ball and has strength in his swing with baseball exploding off the bat. Barrel accuracy is outstanding as he will hit and hit to all fields with pop. Anthony has the makings of a special type player and will get looks from the collegiate coaches with his baseball tools.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
