Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • 1B/LHPPosition Projection

01/14/2022 - Baseball Factory's Spring Training at Jackie Robinson Training Complex(Ages 14-18) Anthony is a coachable 1B/LHP in the class of 2024 out of Aldan, PA. At 1B, he did a good job of keeping the ball in front of him. He gets rid of the ball on his feeds with a quick short arm action with carry. At the dish, he used a square stance to find balance in his lower half to work through the baseball with quick hands. His quick hands enabled him to make hard contact to the pull side. On the mound, he was composed with good mechanics. He did a good job of gathering over the rubber with on time separation and a straight stride to the plate. He worked a 3 pitch mix of a fastball (66 mph), a sweeping slider and a good changeup. Anthony could benefit from programs/drills such as strength training, arm path, bands, long toss, speed & agility.

03/13/2021 - Spring Pro Training Experience - MD (HS) Anthony continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. At the plate, hitting/power potential through an open setup. Hands are quick (80 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap to gap pop. At 1B, he displays smooth, athletic actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. He moves well laterally with range improving as he increases foot quickness.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
