07/09/2011 - Team One West 2011 Anthony continues to show as a two-way player in the outfield plus on the mound as a left-handed pitcher. He has improved his baseball tools in the outfield and shows as a solid player for the next level. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a well above average runner at 7.03. He has active feet as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls as he works to get behind and plays through with momentum to his target. His throws show life, accuracy, and are on line with carry into his target. Offensively, hitting grades and power numbers have improved to well above average. He is an aggressive hitter that attacks the baseball with his hands. He shows a short bat path, displaying extension with a good feel for the barrel with the baseball jumping off his bat when centered. At the event, he was 1 for 2 with 2 BB as he shows a good eye at the plate. On the mound, his fastball showed a range of 78-79 mph with a solid, average breaking ball that displays downward tilt. He pitches to contact and throws strikes with all his pitches.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
