He presents his glove, fields the ball out in front and has a smooth transfer to throw. As a hitter, Anthony shows an athletic/open stance with fluid rhythm to load. Quick hands fire the barrel with + bat speed as he's looking to jump on first pitch FB's. The ball jumps when centered as he sprays the gaps. In the MIF, he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are aggressive as he attacks balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is soft / sure and presents well out front. He moves well laterally with range improving as he improves foot quickness. Hands / feet work well together as he gets rid of the baseball quickly with accuracy on his throws but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program.

Feet are active as attacks balls and plays through well with his body. Glove action is soft / sure and presents well out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. He is a solid defender with sure hands. At the plate, he continues to shine through an athletic, open setup. Hands are quick (82 mph exit velocity) and works through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will continue to increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. At the event he was 2 for 8 and put the ball in play at every AB. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a great personality, is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

09/04/2020 - MS All-Region Tournament Anthony is a talented R/R SS who can swing it with power. As a hitter, this righty steps into the box with a purpose. Quick hands whip the barrel with + bat speed, as he engages his lower 1/2 well and connects with strength. He battled in game play and proved to be a tough out going an impressive 5 for 6 with 3 singles, a double and a triple. At SS, he has active prep and works right to left into an athletic fielding position. He makes the plays with soft hands, funnels smoothly and has a clean transfer to throw. In the field, Anthony takes a good first step and shows efficient footwork. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front of his body with sure hands. He makes a clean exchange and throws from a high 3/4 angle, keeping his throws accurate with carry through his target. Anthony can improve defensively by long tossing to build up his arm strength. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an open stance with his hands held high. He gets into a simple load and works to barrel up the baseball, making solid contact. Getting his stride foot down sooner can help Anthony improve as a hitter. With five more years to develop, Anthony has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

07/22/2018 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 12-14) Anthony is an athletic and talented 2024 SS prospect that works hard and made several adjustments throughout the week at Pirate City. At SS Anthony presents a low/early glove, is on time with his pre-pitch set up, and funnels the ball into his body. He anticipates the ball off the bat, has good footwork on double plays and has a quick release. Continuing to practice game like throws in his throwing program will increase his ability to throw from multiple arm angles and on the run. At the plate, Anthony starts in a crouched position, loads his hands back, and has good tempo in his load. He needs to continue to attack the inside part of the ball and create backside rotation to get extension through contact. Anthony is a grinder. He will continue to improve through increasing arm strength and working on his first step to the ball. He will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
