06/25/2016 - Omaha National World Series - Session 2 Anthony continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities with a tremendous future on the diamond. On the mound, arm strength has really improved, now showing near a pro level as indicated by his 88 mph velocity. Fastball displays late life. Breaking ball displays 1/7 shape with late break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with cutting action. Off speed stuff show as quality pitches that will get outs. Control is a plus as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now an outstanding runner at 6.91. In the OF, defensive abilities are well above average, displaying smooth / fluid actions. He utilizes his quick feet in covering a lot of ground and makes the routine plays. He shows good game awareness and does a nice job of backing up bases. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick (87 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing with baseball jumping off the bat when centered. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a great personality, is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be. Anthony has the makings of a special type player and will get looks from the collegiate coaches and pro scouts with his baseball abilities.

03/06/2016 - College PREP - Hightstown, NJ Anthony is a talented 2-way prospect (OF/LHP) who has a projectable frame. In the OF, he puts his athleticism on display and moves lightly on the balls of his feet. He works behind the trough the ball firing strong throws with carry into his target. At the plate, Anthony has a balanced setup with rhythm to load. Swing is short/direct to and through the zone with plus bat speed. He squares the ball up, hitting it where it's pitched and utilizing the entire field. On the mound, Ramos pounds the zone with strikes. He works to a tall/controlled balance point, has smooth separation and drives off the rubber with his lower 1/2. Arm works loosely as his FB jumps out of his hand, cracking the mitt at 86 mph. Changeup compliments his FB well as it has some tail - 72-74 mph. Anthony can make things happen in many aspects of the game. His tools will translate well into the next level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
