03/12/2023 - National Showcase - Glendale (Phoenix), AZ Anthony is a 2025 OF/P prospect from Flagstaff, AZ. In the OF, he shows off range in all directions and solid footwork. He does a good job of presenting his hands out in front when fielding and high points fly balls. He works hard to be aggressive and attack plays in the field. He has a long arm action and makes accurate throws to his cutoffs. He works hard to carry momentum through his throwing targets. At the plate, he starts with a tall stance and generates good bat speed. His hands are direct and on-plane to the ball. He works hard to stay off his heels and attack the baseball. He is a very coachable athlete especially in the box and he makes hard, consistent contact to all fields. On the mound, he throws from a high 3/4 arm angle and features a 2-pitch mix. He does a good job of gathering himself over the rubber and keeping his eyes on his target throughout his delivery. He has a very simple, repeatable delivery and he stays squared to his target. He can guide the ball a little bit. With more reps on the mound he should increase his comfort and feel for the position. Looking forward to seeing Anthony's growth over the next couple of years!

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
