11/15/2020 - All-In Membership - Marlborough (Boston), MA Anthony is an athletic RHP/OF who has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed is solid as indicated by his 7.32 60 time. IN the OF, defensive abilities are solid as he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. He moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground. Hands / feet work well together as he gets rid of the baseball quickly with accuracy and carry (83 mph velocity) across the diamond. At the plate, he continues to shine, displaying solid hitting abilities with well above average power potential setup. Hands are quick (85 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing and stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. On the mound, he gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a loose arm and extends through on his release, staying inline towards the plate. He shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 78 mph. Breaking ball displays 12/6 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with late depth. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. With 2 years to further develop, Anthony with get looks from the collegiate coaches as he continues to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
