06/11/2023 - National Showcase - Stockton (Sacramento), CA Anthony continues show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At 2B, defensive abilities are now solid as he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active as he attacks ball and plays through with his body. Glove action is firm and present out front. In the OF, he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind ball and plays through with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows an open setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn.

02/12/2023 - National Showcase - Stockton (Sacramento), CA Anthony is a 2024 OF/2B prospect. At 2B, he shows quick, fluid feet to start and put himself in a good ready position. He shows off range with agile movements. He has a quick exchange and makes accurate throws from a 3/4 arm angle. Works to stay down on ground balls and takes good angles in the infield. Back hand is a little sharp, can try to be more fluid with this movement. In the OF, he made good accurate throws to the cutoff. Does a good job of getting behind the ball and has a quick exchange from glove to hand. Makes the routine plays. Can work to be more active pre-pitch to help get in an athletic position to start. At the plate, he works with a crouched setup. Made consistent contact with a good opposite field approach. Does a good job of staying in the middle of the field, but can sometimes get around the ball. Tries to be explosive with his hips.

01/08/2021 - 2021 Baseball Factory Pre-Season Prospects Tournament (HS) Anthony is an athletic (5’6”/140) two-way prospect (OF/RHP) in the 2024 class. In the outfield, he starts in an athletic position using smooth footwork with a quick first step to take good routes to the ball. He makes plays on-time with a sure glove using a 2-handed exchange to make efficient throws to the cutoff man. At the plate, this righty takes the box with a tall/open stance with high hands. Controlled rhythm into his load lets Anthony keep a quiet head/eyes where he tracks the ball well out of the pitcher's hand, hitting the ball back toward the center of the field. As an RHP, he takes the mound in a confident setup with good poise. He uses a two-pitch mix (FB/CB) with good command, staying out of the middle of the zone and attacking low looking to get GB's. FB ranges 60-69 and CB shows 11-5 shape with early break. He uses good mechanics with an on-time separation, repeating well. Only a 2024 grad - Anthony is a hard worker who still has a ton of time to progress to get to where he wants to be.

07/05/2018 - California Select Training & Competition - Session 1 (Ages 12-14) Anthony continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time. At 2B, defensive abilities have improved as he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls up, displaying sure hands as he makes the plays. He shows off his athletic abilities on his feeds of the double play. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, hitting potential has improved through a tall setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 50-54 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. Getting on a long toss program will help to increase arm strength which will aid in his development on the mound. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

02/11/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Stockton (Sacramento), CA Anthony is a young, 2-way player who plays 2nd base and RHP. Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
