11/22/2020 - All-In Membership - Gambrills, MD Anthony continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. At the plate is where he shows has improved the most, now displaying well above average hitting abilities with outstanding power potential through a squared setup. Hands are quick and has strength (93 mph exit velocity) in his swing. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach with gap-to-gap pop. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. He uses his body through the blocking process, but needs to create better angles with upper half. Pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.30 range with accuracy on his throws as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At 1B, defensive abilities have improved as he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Glove action is soft and presents well out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness.

08/27/2017 - College PREP - Wilmington, DE Anthony showed improvements in all aspects of his game during his workout in Wilmington. Defensively, Anthony showed active footwork, soft hands, and a quick release across the diamond. He presents his glove well, works the double play properly, and has an accurate arm to his target. Added arm strength, lighter/quicker feet, and playing more low to high will help abilities at SS continue to improve. On the mound, Anthony stands over the rubber well, he has a loose/free arm action, and he lands with proper direction. He separates on-time, works in good rhythm, and competes in the zone with his pitches. More lower body, a better finish, and better glove side lead can help abilities on the mound further improve. Offensively, Anthony has an athletic set-up, a proper load, and he keeps a still head on the ball. He has a direct barrel, makes square contact, and flashes a line drive approach. Higher hands, added strength, and more extension to and through the ball can help hitting numbers rise.

09/27/2015 - Interactive Video Program - Bowie, MD Tony is a skilled 2-way player as a C/3B who has some pop at the plate. Offensively, he stands in well with an athletic/balanced setup. Rhythm in hands is smooth as he gets back into a strong launch position. He squares the ball up with it jumping off of his barrel when centered. Behind the dish, Tony sits in well with quiet/simple actions and presents a low target. He tracks the ball into his mitt and has a clean exchange to throw putting the ball accurately on 2B. At 3B, Santos works into a square fielding position and makes the plays with soft/sure hands. He has a smooth transfer and works in-line toward his target at 1B. Only a 2022 grad - he still has a ton of time to develop. Overall abilities in his game will improve wit work on the following.

Offense
1. Shorter/more direct swing path
2. Increased bat speed
3. Contact points
Catching
1. Stay low to throw
2. Arm strength (long toss)
3. Blocking
Infield
1. Work from the ground-up
2. Lateral quickness
3. Glove presentation

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
