07/27/2016 - Under Armour Southwest Championships 17U, powered by Baseball Factory's Team One Anthony is a talented RHP who continues to refine his game. On the mound, he showed a running fastball and an 11-5 curveball from his over the top arm angle, occasionally touching low 80's on his fastball. His good control is a result of his clean/repeatable mechanics, starting with a strong balance point, clean arm action and a strong finish to the plate. Being slightly quicker to the plate out of the stretch will help control the running game. With another year left to develop in high school, Anthony has a bright future on the mound.

04/17/2016 - College PREP - Kentfield (San Francisco), CA Anthony is a lean RHP with a promising future on the mound. On the bump, this righty throws a 4-pitch mix coming from a 3/4 arm slot and loose/free arm action. He works through a strong balance point and has smooth overall actions. Arm strength is well above average as indicated by his top velocity of 83 mph. FB ranges from 81-83 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball has 11/5 shape with gradual break. Arm speed is maintained on changeup, showing a feel for pitch with tailing action. He throws a slider that resembles breaking ball. Off speed stuff show potential as being quality pitches. Control is well above average as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Anthony has a lot of potential and will get looks from the collegiate coaches as he continues to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
