10/28/2015 - Under Armour SoCal Classic, powered by Baseball Factory's Team One Anthony is a skilled/athletic OF that showed very well during his time at the SoCal Classic. Defensively, he tracks down balls with ease with his quiet head and quick feet. He gets good reads and works into position behind he fly-ball. A quick release and strong arm put the ball accurately into his target. At the plate, this RHH shows some serious pop to the pull side with good rhythm. He attacks the FB in the zone with a consistent, level bat path, producing line drives. The ball explodes off of his bat when centered (exit velocity = 89 mph) as he drives the ball to the deep parts of the park. In all, Anthony is a gamer with plus toolset that will play at a high level.

10/07/2015 - Arizona Senior Fall Classic Soto is an athletic OF who can swing it with power. At the plate - this RHH stands in with an athletic setup and centered balance. Quick hands whip the barrel to and through the zone as he jumps on pitches he likes. The ball explodes off of his bat when centered spraying it the the deep parts of the park. Once on base he's a threat to steal with his speed. In the OF, Anthony takes a quick first step hustling to track down balls in the gaps. He isn't afraid to lay out to get his glove on anything hit his way. Anthony has a ton of upside and will be one to keep an eye.

09/06/2015 - College PREP - San Francisco, CA Anthony is a strong, solid OF entering his final HS season. In the OF, he works with quality fielding techniques and feel for the game. He takes a quick first step to the ball and makes the routine plays look easy. At the plate, he squares himself in the box with a strong lower 1/2. His hands are strong and fire directly to the ball with good whip through. He hits balls with power to the pull side and will drive in runs. Overall, Anthony is a strong player with a solid skill-set that will play at a high level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
