06/20/2018 - Baseball Factory Select Training at the College World Series (Ages 12-14) Anthony is a coachable OF/LHP prospect who worked hard on his skills during his time at the Baseball Factory Select Training at the College World Series. In the field, Anthony shows efficient footwork and is very agile ranging to the ball. He gets in and athletic position and fields the ball out in front of his body. He has a quick exchange with a quick release on his throws, keeping them accurate with carry through his target. At the plate, this LHH sets up in an open stance and takes a short stride. He is fluid getting into his load and comes through well with his lower half. He takes a direct swing with fast bat speed which leads to consistent contact and gap to gap pop. On the mound, Anthony shows a solid delivery as he gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a loose arm action and extends through on his release, remaining inline towards the plate. Anthony shows a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 65mph. Breaking ball sits from 57-60mph with sharp 1-7 break. With five more years to develop, Anthony has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

07/23/2017 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 12-14) Anthony continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. In the OF, he displays smooth actions. Feet are aggressive as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He reads balls well off the bat and works to get behind balls but needs to play through with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he improves his foot quickness. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through an uphill swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 61 mph. Fastball showed a range of 56-61 mph with tailing action. Breaking ball displays 2/8 shape with early break. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

05/21/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Redwood City (San Francisco/San Jose), CA Anthony is an athletic, 2-way player at OF/LHP. Defensively in the OF, he makes good reads on the fly ball. He has a clean exchange and fires throws to his target with loose arm action. On the hill, this LHP gathers over the rubber and delivers from a 3/4 arm slot. He has a strong frontside delivering a 3-pitch mix and works in line towards home plate. Offensively with the bat, Anthony shows a balanced setup. He whips his barrel fast through the zone as he drives pitches from gap to gap. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Defense
1. Quicker footwork
2. Develop soft hands
3. Arm strength (long toss)
Pitching
1. Be a strike thrower
2. Develop CH
3. Finish strong
Offense
1. Develop rhythm
2. Lower 1/2 drive
3. Level out swing path

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
