08/05/2019 - Baseball Factory Pro Select Training & Tournament at Pirate City (Ages 14-18) Anzel continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At 3B, defensive abilities have improved as he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls up. Glove action is clean but will benefit by presenting more out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, he has a good overall delivery, a good arm action, and he rotates his hips through to his target. Arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 65 mph. Breaking ball displays 3/9 shape with across break. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

02/10/2019 - National Tryout Plus - Gainesville, FL Anzel is an active and talented 2022 2-way prospect. At the hot corner, Anzel works to the ball and makes the routine play. He replaces his feet on double plays, throws from multiple arm slots, and makes accurate throws. At the plate, Anzel starts in a tall and closed stance. He has a quiet head and makes consistent pull contact. Continuing to rotate his back leg during the swing and staying balanced at contact will improve his ability to hit the ball to all fields. On the bump, Anzel features three pitches and tries to command the bottom part of the plate. His fastball tops out at 62 mph, his curveball has an early break, and he chokes the changeup. He keeps his eyes on his target and stays directional toward the plate. Anzel will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

08/02/2018 - Baseball Factory Pro Select Training at Historic Dodgertown (Ages 12-14) Anzel is a big, strong two-way player who works hard on the field. He can dot on the mound with good control and works to both sides of the plate. He shows a fastball at 60mph, an 11-5 curveball and a deceptive changeup to keep hitters off balance. He shows poise and composure on the mound, working aggressively and pitching ahead in the count. At the plate, he stays short to the ball keeping his hands inside to use all fields. Swing path is level and he makes square, line drive contact consistently. At third, he presents his hands to field and funnels the ball in to make tough plays. He starts the double play with on target feeds and makes accurate throws. Working from the ground up will allow him to make more of the tough plays. Anzel is a player we definitely want to keep an eye on.

11/16/2017 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition at Pirate City (Ages 12-14) Anzel is a lean RHP/3B who will graduate in 2022. At 3B, he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active / aggressive as he takes good first steps in attacking the baseball. Glove action is soft / clean but needs to present more out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate he shows a tall / closed setup. Hands are loose and work through a compact swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will continue to improve as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 55-60 mph. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and plays the game hard. With 5 years to further develop, Anzel has abilities with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
