07/20/2015 - 2015 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National West Ari continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities, only showing at 1B at the event with a promising future on the diamond. At the plate is where he showed best through an athletic setup. Hands are quick, generating plus bat speed through a direct / level swing path. He has strength in his swing and works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap to gap pop. The baseball explodes off the bat when centered, creating backspin. Defensive abilities are well above average as he displays proper footwork around the bag. Hands are soft / sure and he consistently showed the ability to pick balls out of the dirt. Arm strength is solid with throws displaying accuracy but will benefit by building more through a long toss program and work to get rid of the baseball quicker.

01/16/2015 - Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Ari showed at the Under Armour Baseball Factory Pre-Season All America Tournament with a 6'3/200 lbs frame. At 1B, he worked his feet to get to a good fielding position with his hands in front. He was sure with the glove and attacked throws from across the diamond aggressively. Offensively, the LHH worked with activated hands to get the barrel down to contact on a direct path. He worked inside the ball and flashed extension through contact. He was selectively aggressive to offer at the first pitch fastball and hit 3 doubles in his AB's. On the hill, the southpaw threw a FB with tail, a 2/8 CB with gradual action at 66-68, and a CH with cut at 68-69. He showed some feel to pitch and had decent mound presence and an ability to work both sides of the plate. In all - Ari continues to show projection for the next level and still has another year and a half to add strength for the next level.

10/15/2014 - Arizona Junior Fall Classic Ari continues to show progress from event to event with Baseball Factory. Most recently, at the AZ Junior Fall Classic, he showed exceptional defensive ability at first with good footwork and body control. He was sure with his glove and had good bag familiarity to finish plays. Offensively, he was strong to launch and generated good bat speed and barrel accuracy to make solid contact. On the mound, he was sound mechanically and had free arm action to deliver his 3 pitches. He mixed well and had very good mound presence with his big frame. Overall - Ari is a very intriguing prospect that has a great work ethic and attitude that pairs well with his playing ability.

09/21/2014 - College PREP - Detroit, MI Ari has a strong/solid build with future upside. At 1B, he has seen tremendous improvement. His advanced pre-pitch footwork, clean exchange, and footwork around the bag make him an excellent defensive 1B. On the mound, he is 'mechanically sound' with a smooth, repeatable delivery. He hides the ball well making it difficult for hitters to pick up. Making sure that he stays collected at times and keeping the same release point will allow Ari to continually improve as a LHP. At the plate, he gets good extension with his plus bat speed using all fields. He connects and drives the ball. By lengthening his setup and keeping a level swing path, he will see his hitting abilities improve.

12/20/2013 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City Ari is a hard-working player who has a willingness to get better. Defensively, he shows good footwork around the bag and adjusts to the throws. He presents his glove out in front and fields the ball cleanly. At the plate, Ari battles every at-bat. He has a confident/simple approach and shows good barrel awareness. He squares the ball up consistently and puts the ball in play, putting pressure on the defense. On the bump, this lefty works through a controlled/repeatable delivery. FB shows slight run and is thrown for strikes. Breaking ball has 1/7 shape and hits 66 mph. Getting more extension out over his front side will help to improve command. Overall - Ari is a skilled player who is only a few minor adjustments away from taking his game to the next level.

09/15/2013 - College PREP - Adrian, MI In Ari's first Factory outing he showed as a 1B/LHP. On the mound, the lefty threw three pitches for strikes with good arm action, control and a repeatable delivery. He shows a good tempo and finish and has exceptional feel for his off-speed pitches - a CB with sharp action and a CH with sink. At first, he presents his glove well and has active feet around the bag. He throws accurately after fielding - sometimes deep - and shows good athleticism. Offensively, he is athletic in his setup, has a good lower half and a level swing path. He shows gap pop and will have greater pop when he stays shorter to the ball. Overall - Sechopoulos is a 2016 that shows current ability and greater future potential - especially on the mound.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
