06/12/2018 - 2018 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National Florida Armani continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. On the bump, he had a solid showing at the event. He attacks hitters, throwing a lot of strikes as he works to get ahead of hitters through a quick tempo. Arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 86 mph. Fastball showed range of 78-86 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 1/7 shape with late break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup, showing a feel for with tailing action.

06/04/2018 - College PREP - Jupiter, FL Armani is a talented 2019 2-way player. In the OF, Armani has active pre-pitch movement, creates angles to the ball, and works from the ground. He works behind the ball and creates momentum with his lower half when throwing to the bases. At the plate, Armani loads his hands back into the drive position, and has pre-pitch rhythm in his hands. He attacks the ball with his lower half, stays balanced through contact, and gets extension through the ball. On the bump, Armani gathers over the rubber, separates on time, and gets his chest over his front knee. He rides his back hip toward the plate and has good action on his 2-seam fastball. Overall, he has good mechanics and consistently throws strikes. Armani will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
