01/25/2015 - National Tryout - San Diego, CA Arthur continues to progress his skills on the diamond. This athletic 2-way player can make things happen. With the bat, he stands in well with a rhythm to load. Swing is quick to and through the zone as he engages his lower 1/2, generating pop off of his barrel. Behind the dish, he has athletic actions and moves well. He gets around pitches in the dirt and deadens them off of his chest. On throws down to 2B, he replaces his feet well and gains ground toward his target. In the OF, he shows good ranges to his right and left, tracking down fly-balls. He secures the ball with 2 hands and has a clean exchange to throw, Continuing to increase his arm strength will aid in both his development behind the dish as well as in the OF. Only a 2019 grad - Arthur has molded himself into quiet a ballplayer.

07/25/2014 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City Arthur is a young primary catcher with a great attitude. Behind the plate he receives with firm hands, gives a solid target, and shows the ability to move well when blocking. He has proper footwork on his throws to 2nd base, but needs to continue to work on his exchange and arm strength to be quicker. At the plate he is an ideal contact hitter that showed good barrel accuracy. He sprays the ball to all fields and has an advanced approach seeing a lot of pitches during games. Would be a great leadoff or 2 hole hitter with his approach and consistent on base mentality.

01/26/2014 - National Tryout - San Diego, CA Arthur is a R/R 2-way player as a C/3B. Behind the dish, he tracks the ball into his mitt and sticks it with a firm wrist. He shows quick footwork and is aggressive, getting around the pitch in the dirt and centering it off of his chest. When throwing down to 2B, he gains ground and has a clean exchange. Continuing to strength his arm will help to lower pop times. At 3B, he works to keep the ball in front. He fields the ball cleanly and makes accurate throws across the diamond. At the plate, Arthur shows a tall setup with good balance. Barrel delivery is short/direct as he hits the ball on a line. Only a 2019 grad - Arthur has tools and a lot of time still to develop his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
