Official Scouting Report

  • 3Class Rating
  • OF/RHPPosition Projection

01/18/2019 - 2019 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Arthur is a skilled (6'0"/170) 2-way player OF/RHP who can make things happen in a variety of ways on the diamond. In the OF, he works on the balls of his feet and is aggressive in tracking down fly-balls hit to his right and left. He takes a quick first step with solid routes/angles. Transfer is smooth as he gains ground and works in-line toward his target, delivering strong/accurate throws. As a hitter, Soto displays an open stance with loose/comfortable hands in his setup. He gets to a strong launch position, fires the barrel quickly and connects with pop, sending the ball for a ride when he squares it up. Arthur also has the ability to step onto the rubber and compete. He pounds the zone and challenges hitters to swing the bat. He gets balanced, has smooth separation and works downhill toward his target. FB shows good arm-side run as hitters have a hard time squaring it up. Changeup shows to be his best pitch with run as he works it down in the zone. Arthur is a talented prospect who has what it takes to play at a high level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
