07/19/2016 - College PREP - Bridgeport, CT Arthur is a 2018 C with a wiry frame (5'11", 170lbs). Behind the plate, Arthur displays good body control and has soft hands that he presents on time to receive the ball. He uses the proper footwork on his throws and has a clean exchange which leads to accurate, on-line throws to 2B. He showed good pop times ranging from 2.18-2.25 seconds. Arthur can improve as a catcher by incorporating a long toss program to improve his arm strength and by getting his glove down when he blocks balls in the dirt. In the box, Arthur has an aggressive approach from the left side. He has a square stride and he shows good rhythm as his hands get activated in his load. His hips and hands work well together as he takes a direct route to the ball, spraying the ball to all parts of the field. Arthur can improve as a hitter by staying back longer on pitches and by getting more extension through his swing. Overall, Arthur is a solid C with the potential to contribute at the next level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
