01/12/2024 - 2024 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament Ashkon is an exceptional 6ft 5/220 1B in the 2024 class. He recently competed well at the BF Preseason All American event at IMG in Florida. Defensively, he provides a large wingspan and is a strong target for his defenders. He shows bag awareness and adjusts his feet well based upon ball flight and with ball up and down the line. The ball sticks to his pocket in ground ball actions and he can redirect with clean actions. Arm proves to be accurate from a 3 qtr slot. At the plate, he shows athletic ability and stays square to the dish. Actions are smooth and he stays inside his feet. Hits off a firm front side and his hands are explosive at 88 exit velo. Barrel is on-plane and can drive the ball to the gaps on a line. Provided several quality at-bats in game action with 1 hit and 2 walks. Overall, Ashkon is a next level talent and will be a force on the college diamond.

09/17/2023 - National Showcase - Keizer (Salem), OR Ashkon is a 2024 1B prospect with a strong lower half and a big frame at 6'5" 220 pounds. At first, he shows off active feet and does a great job of getting in a ready position pre-pitch. He squares the ball up when fielding and makes all the routine plays at first. He has good bag awareness and gets his feet in the right spots to receive throws. He flashes a nice backhand with smooth movements. He makes accurate throws to his targets from a low 3/4 slot. At the plate, he starts in an open stance with a good load back. He has a firm frontside with his lower half and shows some explosive movements to the baseball with fast bat speed and quick hands. He flashes some pop to the pull side and makes hard, consistent contact. He recorded an impressive max exit velo of 91 MPH. Ashkon is an exciting prospect that we are excited to see grow through his senior year of high school!

07/27/2023 - Southwest Championships 17U, powered by Baseball Factory's Team One Ashkon is a strong and gifted 1B in the 2024. Has an impressive frame at 6ft 5/220 and is an excellent target for his defenders. Defensively, he plays on the balls of his feet and shows a quick 1st step. Gains a low fielding position and his exchanges are clean. Uses a 3qtr slot for accurate feeds. Shows solid footwork around the bag and has a feel for the position. Working to throw the top of the baseball will assist with further depth. At the plate, he is an aggressive hitter and swings with intent to do damage. Begins with comfortable hands and uses an explosive lower half. Bats speed plays at 85 exit velo and create line drive power to the alleys and pull side. Working to keep his eyes on the barrel will help from pull his front side. Overall, Ashkon is a tremendous prospect in the 2024 class.

02/19/2023 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Keizer (Salem), OR Ashkon is a 2024 1B prospect with a strong frame at 6'5" 220 pounds. At 1B, he has active feet pre-pitch and gets into a nice, squared fielding position on ground balls. He has a clean exchange and makes strong, accurate throws to his targets on the infield. His bag awareness at first is impressive and he displayed a nice backhand with good movements. Works hard to be consistent and keep his glove from getting too deep. At the plate, Ashkon starts in an athletic stance with good balance and a squared stride. He gets a solid load and really attacks the ball out in front. Power was impressive and he recorded an exit velo of 90 MPH. Works hard to keep his bat on a level plane, but can really drive the ball and exhibited some pop to the opposite field. Body has a lot of potential and the hit tool will play at the next level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
