10/17/2021 - All-In Membership - Hoover (Birmingham), AL Ashton is a 1B/3B who will graduate in 2024. Tall frame lean build with strength present and room to add throughout. At 1B, he has a great attitude and plays with good energy. He works to center the baseball and tracks ball to glove. Throws from multiple arm slots with an arm velocity up to 72mph. At 3B, showed a high energy level and hustled non-stop during his workout. He showed ability to play through the baseball to his glove side. Good touch on his DP feeds. At the plate, he hits from an athletic and open stance. Quiet head and level eyes enable him to track pitches well. Has an on-time stride as he made contact to the pull side with a bat exit velocity up to 75mph during his round of BP. With 3 years of continued growth and development, we see this 2-way prospect having a bright future on the baseball field.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
