10/12/2018 - College Recruiting Day - Columbia, MD Ashton is a 2B prospect who will graduate in 2021. In the field, Ashton shows an athletic ready position and is agile moving to the ball. He gets into a low position and fields the ball out in front with soft hands. He makes a clean exchange and works to make accurate throws to his target. Quickening his release on his throws can help Ashton improve defensively. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a tall stance and takes a short stride. He shows on-time rhythm with a small load and takes a level swing to the ball. He rotates his core and produces solid contact. Ashton can improve as a hitter by driving his lower half more. With three more years to develop, Ashton has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
