08/09/2018 - Babe Ruth National All Star Classic Augustine is a coachable 1B/RHP prospect who worked hard on his skills during his time at the Babe Ruth National All Star Classic. In the field, Augustine shows efficient footwork and gets into an athletic fielding position. He fields the ball out in front of his body with soft hands. He makes a quick, clean exchange and gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them accurate and on-line to his target. Augustine can improve defensively by quickening his footwork. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a closed stance and takes a square stride. He is smooth getting into his load and drives through well with his lower half. He takes a level swing with fast bat speed which leads to consistent contact and gap to gap pop. Augustine can improve as a hitter by gaining more extension through the ball. On the mound, Augustine gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a loose arm action and extends through on his release, staying inline towards the plate. Augustine shows a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 56mph. Breaking ball sits from 47-49mph with good movement. Augustine can improve as a pitcher by finishing square to the plate. With six more years to develop, Augustine has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.
