07/22/2018 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 12-14) Austin continues to show steady progress in his baseball abilities. On the mound, delivery is sound / repeatable as he works through a strong balance point. He shows good mound composure and works to pitch ahead in counts. Fastball showed a range of 61-62 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. Getting on a long toss program will help to increase arm strength which will aid in his development on the mound. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

06/10/2018 - Interactive Video Program - New Orleans, LA Austin is a young, 2-way player who catches and pitches. Behind the plate, Austin has a square set-up, firm hands, and playable feet. He keeps the ball in front when blocking, has a clean exchange, and throws with consistency to 2nd base. On the mound, Austin has a clean arm circle, he works in good tempo, and he keeps his eyes on target. He separates on time, has a controlled landing toward home, and competes in the zone. At the plate, Austin has a tall set-up, good balance, and fast bat speed. He has a direct barrel to the ball, he can spray to all fields, and he makes hard contact. Austin can improve overall skills with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
