07/17/2018 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 12-14) Austin is a lean, athletic RHP/SS who has a promising future on the diamond. At SS, he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls up. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, he shows an athletic / squared setup with rhythm. Hands are quick (80 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields and has strength in his swing, flashing gap-to-gap pop. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 74-77 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He throws a slider that resembles breaking ball. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable. With 3 years to further develop, Austin has potential with time and room to progress his game.
