In Austin's latest Factory outing, he showed more consistency within his pop times - ranging from 2.12 - 2.24. Behind the dish, he sits athletically and receives well with an ability to stick the low ball. His feet are active and he has a quick/clean exchange with flashes of life out of the hand. Austin centers balls to block with a soft chest, and is quick to recover. A throwing/long toss program will help his pop times drop around the 2.0 mark. Offensively, he swings from the left side with good rhythm and decent bat speed. He has a short swing path and a contact approach. When he begins to use his lower half productively, he'll flash some more pop. In all, the 6'/175 lbs prospect projects well as a backstop with continuous work.
