03/20/2016 - College PREP - Goshen, KY Austin is an athletic OF who will graduate in 2016. Foot speed is solid as indicated by his 7.30 60 time. At the plate is where he shows best through a squared / balanced setup. He loads well with loose hands that work through a level swing path. Barrel accuracy is a plus and makes consistent hard contact with power showing best to the pull side. In the OF, he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. Austin has abilities with a lot of room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
