08/21/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Colorado Springs, CO Austin worked out at 3B and RHP during his last workout with The Factory. He is a solid defensive player with room to get even better. At 3B, Austin has quick feet, agile range, and firm hands. He gets in a good ready position, makes plays consistently, and throws with accuracy across the diamond. On the mound, Austin has good balance and a clean arm circle. He separates on time, lands with good direction toward home, in a controlled position. Offensively, Austin has a square stance, good balance, and he makes solid contact. He hits line drives, flashes pop to the pull side, and shows the ability to spray to all fields.

02/06/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Parker , CO Austin is a tall, lean 3B/RHP who will graduate in 2024. At 3B, he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active but needs to attack ball and play through with his body. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, he shows a closed setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing and he maintains balance. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 73-74 mph. Breaking ball shows 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with slight sink. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. With 2 years to further develop, Austin has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
