10/04/2015 - National Tryout Plus - Baltimore, MD Sample Player is an athletic two-way player at SS plus on the mound. Foot speed is solid as indicated by his 7.22 60-yard dash times. Feet are active and aggressive in attacking while playing through ground balls with his body. Glove action is presented out front but he flips glove to field showing deep hands. Backhand is solid and he is not afraid to use it.Throws are accurate, showing life and on-line carry across the diamond. Offensively, Sample Player continues to show solid average abilities and power through a balanced setup. Hands are quick, flashing bat speed as he works to keep hands inside the ball, utilizing all fields. He shows a feel for the barrel with baseball jumping off his bat when centered. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 81-84 mph with late life. Changeup is best off speed pitch showing outstanding feel for with arm side run / fade. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with tight spin and gradual break. Sample Player has a lot of potential with the makings to be a solid player as he continues to improve.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
