Official Scouting Report

  • 6Class Rating
  • RHP/1BPosition Projection

02/13/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Palmyra (Harrisburg), PA Avery Edmonds is a 2022 RHP/1B. Tall athletic build with plenty of room to get stronger. Primary right-handed pitcher, has a clean arm action and delivery with a arm slot. Stays on line well and works down the mound. Long levered who repeats his mechanics well. Showed feel and command for 3 pitches and throws strikes. Secondary first baseman who fields out in front with two hands. Long arm stroke from a higher arm slot with shorter footwork. Right-handed hitter with a solid base and square stance. Level swing plane who rotates well to the ball. Has some strength present and can create impact when extended and working to pull. As he continues to develop in all facets, we see him playing baseball at the next level.

03/25/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Madison (NYC), NJ Avery is a tall, 2-way player who pitches and plays 1B. On the mound, Avery stands over the rubber well balanced, he repeats his delivery, and his arm action is clean. He gets good extension on his pitches, lands in a square direction, and competes in the zone. At 1B, Avery has good pre-pitch actions, he keeps the ball in front of his body, and throws with consistency from a short arm action to his target. Offensively, Avery has square set-up, quick hands, and a level swing. He swings on-plane and can spray the ball to all fields. Avery can improve overall skills with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
