Official Scouting Report

01/18/2019 - 2019 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Ayden continues to shine on the diamond. He only showed on the bump at the event. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 78-79 mph. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with early break. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

10/15/2017 - National Tryout Plus - Georgetown, KY Ayden is a strongly-built two-way prospect who is currently more advanced on the mound. He displays a quick, clean delivery that allows him to get to a consistent release point and throw all three pitches for strikes. He features a fastball into the mid-70's, an 11-5 curve that flashes tight break and a changeup that he works off the fastball. He is balanced throughout his delivery, working in line to the plate and has good tempo down the mound. At third, his efficient footwork allows him to create good angles to field and throw quickly with an accurate arm. He fields square and with presented hands to knock down the hot shots hit down the line and make tough plays. At the dish, he is athletic to load to a power position and stride on time. He uses his lower half well to generate bat speed and makes consistent contact with feel for the barrel. Working his hands in a direct path to the ball will result in more hard contact and base hits. Ayden is an intriguing prospect we look forward to watching continue to develop.

09/14/2016 - Under Armour Fall Classic, powered by Baseball Factory's Team One Ayden is a young two-way guy that played over at the hot corner and pitched, during his time at the UA Fall Classic with Baseball Factory. Defensively, he was very consistent to make plays and always positioned himself properly per situation. He worked well to his glove side, and presented his glove well on all plays. He worked on his flexibility during camp, and began to get lower in his fielding position to secure the ball in front. Offensively, he refined his load, and found a more consistent trigger to get his body on-time to hit. He was very selective in the box, and drew 4 walks in just 9 plate appearances. On the mound, Ayden had two outings, with his second outing being his best, most efficient work. He threw 1.2 innings in relief, challenging hitters with his FB, showing plus control working around the zone. In all - Ayden never stopped working hard and was extremely positive and coachable, making adjustments to better his game.

01/15/2016 - Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Ayden has made some sound improvements since we last saw him, most notably with the bat, showing above average mechanics and legitimate power for his age. He stays behind the ball and loads his hands well, showing good timing, a soft stride, a direct bat path, and coordination with his hands and hips which leads to good bat speed. With the glove, Hutton stays down on the ball and has his hands out front. He shows proper footwork and throws from a solid arm stroke that fits his position well, allowing his ball to carry. On the mound, his fastball topped at 77 mph, another good improvement since his previous outing. Curveball showed 11/5 shape with some depth. He varries his looks with runners on base and has a good mound presence and poise about him. Hutton continues to be a team player and is very coachable. He is above average for his age and will continue to be one to watch as he is about to embark on just his freshman high school season this spring.

12/20/2015 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 1 Ayden continues to work hard on his skills and made adjustments to his game during his time in Pirate City. Offensively, this RH swinger shows a balanced setup with active hands. He has rhythm to load and tracks pitches into the zone. He takes a hack, barrels the ball up and extends well through contact. Leveling out his swing path will increase contact consistency which help him to use the entire field. At 3B - Ayden hustles into a square fielding position behind the GB. He gathers well, has a clean exchange and makes accurate throw across the diamond to 1B. Presenting his glove and working to field the GB more out in front will help to advance his skill-set defensively. This 2019 grad has upside with still a ton of time to develop to get to where he wants to be.

10/18/2015 - College PREP - Lexington, KY Ayden is lean 3B/RHP that will graduate in 2019. At 3B, feet are aggressive as he attacks balls and squares balls up well. He shows off his athletic abilities on his feeds / turns of the double play. Hands are clean and presents well out front but needs to soft glove to continue to improve defensive grade. At the plate, he shows a squared / balanced setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He works on time and makes consistent contact, mainly to the pull side. Hitting grade will continue to improve as he stays inside the ball to utilize all fields. Power numbers will increase as he adds overall body strength and works to utilize his lower half more aggressively. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 70-72 mph. Breaking ball displays sweeping action with across break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup but throws too hard with velocities resembling fastball. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program, develops better off speed stuff, and works to throw more strikes. With 3 years to further develop, Ayden has abilities with time and room to improve.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
