09/13/2020 - National Evaluation and Tryout - Greenville, SC Ayden continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process, centering balls well out front. Pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.14 with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, hitting / power potential have improved through a tall setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He shows a feel for the barrel with power showing best to the pull side. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 72 mph. Fastball shows slight arm side run. Breakng ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. Slight is slightly harder with tight spin. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with arm side run. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

08/02/2018 - Baseball Factory Pro Select Training at Historic Dodgertown (Ages 12-14) Ayden is a two-way prospect who plays hard and is always looking for ways to get better. He shows strength and raw power at the plate to drive the ball into the gaps and flash power potential. Hands stay inside the ball on a level path through the zone. Lower half generate bat speed and pop to drive the ball to all fields. Feet are quick to slide and block behind the plate and keep balls in front. Hands are firm to receive, sticking pitches in the zone for strikes. He works with high intent to throw hard on the mound and work downhill to the bottom if the zone. Fastball reaches 59mph with late run and the changeup shows sink. Getting to a consistent release point will help with deception. Ayden is a talented player with lots of potential.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
